TERYA update 002
Nature impact offsetting?
I’ve been speaking with many people, with different roles and backgrounds, with the purpose of answering the question: “What problem are we solving? And for whom?“
Although it has been clear from the beginning it is essential to protect nature! Matching it with a clear problem statement has not been so clear.
Still an ongoing investigation, yet it’s becoming lucid that companies with an obvious negative impact on nature are more actively thinking about reduction and/or compensation.
Although, academics and scientist believe offsetting or compensation is not the right way to express this (and I understand their concern; it’s impossible to truly compare two different habitats), I believe companies will look for impact accounting on biodiversity.
The question is, how will it be addressed from a commercial, regulatory and accounting perspective. To better understand this, I am listening to companies that are faced with the issue.
Know any? Please share with me
For now I just want to thank you again for the support and your trust in TERYA!

Updates
Welcome to the team, Fernando! 🧑💻
Let’s welcome Fernando Asensio Muñoz to the team as our COO.
Last month we decided to grow the team and look for someone dedicated for all operational matters and data management. Fernando will support the local team of ecologist and biologists in their assessment and look for ways to make processes more efficient and prepare for future scaling! A big task he’s extremely capable to handle 👍
Support from local cooperative 🌳
On the last visit to Nerpio (Spain) we discussed a collaboration with Juan Pedro, manager of AGRÍCOLA Y FORESTAL de Nerpio. This local team of ecologists, biologists and forest workers will support us in all forest assessment, land management and interventions we will need to undertake in the coming years.
Hello, TERYA España 🇪🇸
We are very pleased to announce that our Spanish legal entity will be registered later this month as TERYA.CO España S.L.
From now on, we will operate fully from this spanish entity. All operational and commercial activities will be organised from this company.
The TERYA pitch (draft) 🎙️
If you want to get more detail on the TERYA project, what we aim to do and how we will address the issues, here’s the (still in draft) pitch we use to introduce TERYA. (Any feedback, feel free to contact Vincent)
We are also looking for companies with a clear impact on natural ecosystems. Know any? reach out to Vincent
