TERYA update 003

The nature value chain.

Here’s what’s on my mind

⛓️ Value chains? ⛓️

Just like any other business, from an economic point of view, nature has its own natural value chains, from material to end-of-life.

Most of these value chains are also valuable for humans, yet most of them are not accounted for (yet)!

One that is accounted for, is carbon sequestration! Yet analysing its true economic value chain has been confusing. Countless methodologies, little transparency and a surging demand! A hotbed for distrust.

The questions arise: What about biodiversity credits? Do they play on the same field? Or can we choose another route? What is our added value and what position should we take in this chain?

All questions keeping me busy, soon to be cleared!

Feel free to share any knowledge about this with me 🙏

Thank you again for the support and your trust in TERYA!

Contract signed with REPLANET ✍️

We have been in discussion for a couple of months with Replanet, a UK based biodiversity specialist. Today we signed a contract for the first step towards a full biodiversity baseline, in collaboration with local ecologists and biologists.

Replanet is a frontrunner on Biodiversity credits. They have developed, supported by the Wallacea Trust, a methodology now used by other many players in the field.

Open for discussion…

Contact me to discuss about nature impact

With companies that have a clear impact on nature in industries such as mining & materials, energy, infrastructure & agriculture.

Our point of view is that companies are not paying (enough) for nature they inherently have to destroy to provide their product or service.

Are you available and open for a discussion on positive impact, compensation or offsetting and credit systems?

Noteworthy startups 🌱

In preparation of the assessment, we are actively looking at climate tech startups that might be interesting for us to collaborate with. Here are two that got our attention:

  • Soilytix decodes your soil’s DNA and thereby makes previously inaccessible knowledge available – knowledge that provides new ways to maximize yields and in times of soil poverty and climate crisis is an important tool to ensure strong soils in the future.

  • Firewave harnesses the distinctive acoustic signature produced by fires for remote sensing and early detection

Hello, TERYA Belgium 🇧🇪

We have decided to establish a Belgian Company to control other local entities such as our TERYA.CO España S.L. We still believe that Belgium is a great place to create a safe and secure financial product, which is still our mission, but more on this later!
