Project 01

🟢 Acquired | La Pardina Del Señor

  • Located Fanlo, Huesca, Spain

  • 539 ha of iconic forest

  • 100% forest protection

La Pardina del Señor is not only a visual spectacle but also a thriving and unique ecosystem. The forest boasts a rich diversity of tree species that are rarely found together in such abundance. Among the towering firs and wild pines, you will find the delicate presence of beeches, birches, ashes, maples, and even rowans. Each species contributes to the vibrant seasonal transformation of the forest, particularly in autumn, when the landscape bursts into a mosaic of gold, red, and orange hues.

One of the factors that make this forest so special is its altitude and the mix of Mediterranean and Atlantic influences, which allow these diverse tree species to thrive together. The forest is part of a transitional ecosystem between lower Mediterranean zones and the higher alpine areas, making it a unique biological hotspot.

Additionally, the presence of rare and native flora enhances its ecological value. This diverse mix of species creates a highly productive environment that supports not only plant life but also a wide range of fauna, including birds and small mammals. The forest’s balance between conifers and deciduous trees provides critical habitats and promotes biodiversity that is difficult to replicate in more homogeneous forests.

Moreover, La Pardina del Señor is situated near the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, enriching its ecosystem with proximity to other protected natural areas. This interconnectedness enhances the forest's role as a vital ecological corridor for wildlife in the Pyrenees.

By preserving this forest, we are safeguarding an irreplaceable part of Spain’s natural heritage, fostering biodiversity, and maintaining an ecological sanctuary that future generations can continue to learn from and appreciate.
